I will be uploading (on my personal blog) my journal entries (warning: they are very personal, but names will be changed just in case), along with some photos from my trip. If you want to see those, they will be up there :) I will post one journal with photos from that day per day, so it's not too overwhelming. hope you read and enjoy!! I would appreciate your feedback :)

May 10 Prompt

May 10: Most embarrassing moment(s). Spill.

Oh my gosh! okay so I was a freshman (in high school), and it was at the end of a long day of field hockey practice and my mom came to pick me up to take me home. My school does this thing where they have senior-freshman buddies, and there was this senior who I really wanted as my buddy (she was super good at field hockey, so nice, etc). BUT, that day she had asked my best friend (at the time) to be her buddy! I was devastated!! So when my mom came to pick me up she came out of her car to say hi to everyone, etc. We walked over (my mom and I) to where she was parked, which was right near a set of mini-bleachers, so I started to sit down and take off my shoes and shin guards, and of course, I started talking to my mom about what had happened that day with the whole senior buddy sitch. Needless to say, I didn't look behind me to see who was sitting in the bleachers, and of course, you could probably guess who it was... YEP! the girl I wanted as my senior buddy! Before I turned around though I was basically ranting to my mom about how she asked my best friend and why and saying how upset I was, "Why would she choose ____ over me! I really wanted her as my senior buddy! This is so upsetting!" etc, etc. When I was done taking off my shoes I stood up and turned around, only to see her sitting there just staring at me with this look on her face that I will never forget! It was like a dear in the headlights look combined with an oh my gosh I feel so bad look. I was thoroughly embarrassed for the rest of that whole season, and couldn't even go near her because it was so awkward! On the bright side, we eventually got over it and had actually talked a couple of times since then.

If you laughed at that, thanks. But seriously, as embarrassed as I was at the time, I now thinks it's hilarious, and yes I learned my lesson! I don't talk about anyone now without turning completely in a circle to make sure they aren't anywhere near me!

May 8 Prompt

Just came across a blogging challenge, located here. The challenge is basically to blog every day in may, and the prompts are located in the link above. I'll just start from today :)

May 8 prompt: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
Ok wow, this is broad! I have a lot of advice for people! Perhaps my best piece of advice though would just be to do what makes you happy in life! Now of course, we have to be somewhat realistic, so you can't just throw caution to the wind, quit your job, and go live on a beach like most of us would love to do. But I mean it in the sense that if there is something that makes you happy like a hobby or even a career, then do it! Money is not the most important thing in the world! I know as teenagers we get so stressed about getting the highest GPA in high school to get into the best college to get the best job to make the most money and on and on... what about being happy!? (There was a passage in one of John Green's books similar to what I'm saying but I can't find it or remember which book!- if you know please comment below i would greatly appreciate it). Seriously though, what ever happened to dreaming dreams that you want to do? Who honestly cares about making the most money and having the fanciest car and the biggest house? What ever happened to caring about yourself and how you feel. You may have the biggest house, that doesn't mean that you're the happiest. And you may have the cutest clothes, that doesn't mean that you're the better person. What happened to being a human being? Loving, dreaming, wandering, wondering, learning for pleasure, being happy. Isn't that the whole point of our existence? To be happy? Everyone ends up dead in the end anyways, might as well get the most out of this life while you can, rather than just going through the motions of it, what fun is that? You may call me a hypocrite, because no I don't live life to please myself, I mean I'm only 17, so I still am kind of forced to just go through the motions. I don't have the highest GPA, I'm not the richest person in my school, and I won't be going to the best college, but I am happy, which is really all that matters to me. I think that as long as you're happy with your life and who you are, you shouldn't care about how other people perceive you or their opinions about you, it should only be about you. I mean in reality, the person that matters most to each one of us is our own selves, so why do we care so much what other people think of us when they don't matter as much as we like to believe they do. Don't let other people define you, make yourself happy by doing what you love to do.
I guess to condense that a little bit: Be happy by doing what you want and don't care what others think about you, it's your life not theirs!
